Swedish language and culture for visiting staff

Welcome to a course in the Swedish language and culture for international visiting staff
This year we offer two courses at different levels. The courses will be held at the department of Swedish Language. The aim of the courses is to give international visiting staff a deeper insight into the Swedish culture and also an opportunity to meet and learn Swedish together.
The two levels are:
- Beginners (no previous/almost no previous knowledge of the Swedish language)
- Basic users – Please consider the below self-assessment:
I can understand basic phrases and I am familiar with everyday expressions (e.g. very basic
personal information, shopping, local geography, education, work). I can communicate in very
simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics
and activities provided the other person talks clearly. I can describe in very simple terms aspects
of my background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
The courses comprise of 10 occasions of two hours between 6pm – 8 pm and start as follows:
- Beginners – on Wednesday, February 24.
- Basic users – on Tuesday, February 23.
The number of places is limited; please register as soon as possible but at the latest by Friday, February 12 by sending an e-mail to Birgitta Karlén at Guest Services.
